Activating a New Card

When a new card is issued to you, you must activate the card before you can use it. To do so, you will be required to confirm the expiration date on your new card; therefore, you cannot activate the card before it is in your possession. When the account status changes from New to Active, your card is ready to use.

Depending on your organization and hierarchy settings, you can activate your card from the My Account Detail screen or from the Cardholder Dashboard or the Items Awaiting Your Action panel on the Welcome screen.

To activate your card from the My Account Detail screen:

  1. Click the My Accounts item on the PaymentNet menu bar.

  2. In the Account Number column, click the account number for the card you want to activate.

  3. In the I’d Like To... list, click Activate Card.

  4. Enter the expiration date that appears on your new card.

  5. Click Activate Card. Your new card is now ready to use.

Note:    For increased security of your account, you can also set a PIN for your card.
