Suspending an Account

You can temporarily suspend an account to protect it from unauthorized activity while you are not using it. For example, if you are on a leave of absence from work, you can suspend your account while you are away and then reactivate it when you return.

If your program administrator has enabled this option, you can suspend your account from the My Account Detail screen.

To temporarily suspend an account:

  1. Click the My Accounts item on the PaymentNet menu bar.

  2. In the Account Number column, click the account number for the card you want to suspend.

  3. In the I’d Like To... list, click Temporarily suspend this account.

  4. If you want to prevent unauthorized activity on your account while you search for your card, select the I have misplaced my card option and click Next.

If you will not need your card for a period of time, select the I will be out of the office option. Then click Next and continue with step 6.

  5. If you have misplaced your card and there are recent transactions against it, PaymentNet displays the Review Transactions screen.

If you recognize all of the transactions on this screen, select Yes and click Next.

If you do not recognize one or more of the transactions, select No and click Next. Call the customer service phone number shown on the screen.

  6. Review the confirmation message and then click Suspend Account. Your account will be suspended effective immediately.
