You can delete an existing chart of accounts that is no longer used or needed. As a best practice, J.P. Morgan recommends that you export a copy of the chart of accounts before you delete it. For more information, see Exporting a Chart of Accounts.
When you delete a chart of accounts, all segments and segment values will be deleted. In addition, any transaction defaults associated with it are removed and will no longer be applied to new transactions. Transactions that have already been allocated to the deleted chart of accounts will continue to display those allocations until they are manually edited and new accounting codes are assigned.
To delete a chart of accounts:
Select Administration > Chart of Accounts > Manage.
Click the name of the chart of accounts you want to delete.
Click Delete Chart of Accounts.
