To configure transaction hierarchy settings:
Select Administration > Hierarchy > Settings > Transaction.
Enter the hierarchy ID in the Hierarchy ID field, or click the link and select a node from the hierarchy tree.
Select Override inheritance.
Note:The Override inheritance check box overrides the settings from the parent hierarchy ID, which is listed in the Inherited from field. This allows you to configure the transaction hierarchy settings differently for the selected hierarchy ID. If this check box is not selected, you will not be able to make any changes on this screen, and the selected hierarchy ID will retain the settings of the parent node.
Configure the Transaction Settings as desired. For a list of these fields, see the table below.
In the Transaction Default Priorities area, use the Object lists to set the desired order (1-7) in which transaction defaults will be applied. Options include Account, Customer Code, Employee, Hierarchy ID, MCC, Merchant, and Payable. To set fewer than 7 defaults, select None in the corresponding lists.
In the Transaction Defaults area, select a chart of accounts from the Chart of Accounts list. Then select or enter the accounting codes as necessary, using the drop-down lists or text boxes that display.
Click Save.
