Viewing Transaction Details

As a program administrator, you can view your own transactions and those of all cardholders who are assigned to your hierarchy and are within your scope of view.

When you view transaction details, you can see the transaction date, transaction amount, default accounting codes, merchant details, and other information. For a detailed description of the merchant information that displays on the Transaction Details screen, see the table below.

Note:Identified fraudulent transactions for which your organization is not responsible to pay are not displayed in PaymentNet.

To view transaction details:

  1. Select Transactions > Manage and click the transaction you want to view. Or, while viewing other information about an account, select Take me to > Transaction List - Last 30 Days to see a list of recent transactions for the current account.

  2. Use the tabs on this screen to review the transaction information. For general descriptions of these tabs, see the following table.

Tab

Description

General Information

Displays basic transaction information such as the associated account number, transaction date, post date, and amount. Program administrators can also click the Account Number, MCC, and Merchant links on this screen to view additional information about the account, Merchant Category Code, and Merchant associated with the transaction. For an explanation of the merchant information, see the Merchant Details table below.

Receipts

Displays a list of receipts that have been attached to the transaction. For more information, see Viewing the Receipt List.

Addendum

Displays detailed information that the vendor has attached to the transaction. If a vendor does not provide addendum details, this tab is not available. For more information, see Viewing Vendor Addendum Details.

History

Displays a list of the last 20 changes made to the transaction. For more information, see Viewing Transaction Audit History.

Merchant Details

Description

Merchant

The name of the merchant as displayed in PaymentNet. PaymentNet normalizes the Merchant Name for approximately 180 merchants.

Examples:

  • Airline 016923456 is normalized to “Airline”.

  • Office Supplies 198930034 is normalized to “Office Supplies”.

  • Shipping Services ZXM1233490987 is normalized to “Shipping Services”.

Original Merchant

The name of the merchant provided when the transaction is passed through interchange. This might include appended information such as an airline ticket number, invoice number, or shipping tracking number.

Parent Merchant

A name defined by the client. If the client does not provide a Parent Merchant Name, the Merchant Name is shown.
