Changing a Card Hierarchy

You can change the hierarchy for a card account. For example, if the account holder has a new reporting structure, a new manager, or a new assignment, you might need to change the assigned card hierarchy.

If the cardholder is a PaymentNet user, changing their card hierarchy ID may render the cardholder unable to see their own account transactions. Make sure the new card hierarchy ID is visible within the hierarchy ID and scope for the cardholder’s user access role; if it is not, change the user access role hierarchy ID or scope on the cardholder’s Employee Detail - General Information screen so that the role does have visibility to the new card account hierarchy ID. For information about how to edit a role hierarchy, see Editing Employee Information.

Note:If the scope of the cardholder’s user access role includes Hierarchy ID, Self, and Children, and the new hierarchy ID for the card remains within that scope, it is not necessary to change the cardholder’s user access role; the cardholder will still be able to see their own account transactions.

In addition to changing a user’s role hierarchy ID and scope, you can modify the user’s employee hierarchy ID. For information about how to update an employee hierarchy ID, see Reassigning an Employee to Another Hierarchy.

Note:If an account has a status of Lost Or Stolen, Closed, or Purged, you cannot move it to the Unassigned hierarchy.

To change a card hierarchy:

  1. Select Accounts > Manage and click the account you want to modify. Or, while viewing other information about an account, select Take me to > Account Detail.

  2. Enter the name of the new hierarchy in the Hierarchy ID field, or click the link and select a new node from the hierarchy tree.

  3. Click Save.
