Changing the Status of a Mapper

You can change the status of a mapper to Successful or Unsuccessful based on the mapper configuration. This allows you to validate the mapper output prior to locking the transactions included in the file.

The option to change the mapper status is available in the following two scenarios:

These scenarios apply to custom, flex, data extract utility (DEU), and standard transaction file (STF) mappers; however, custom mappers might have additional parameters that could override site settings.

If your mapper is scheduled to run with both the Mark Transactions as Exported and the Automatically Mark Mapper as Successful check boxes selected on the Mapper Detail - General Information screen, PaymentNet automatically marks the mapper status as Successful. Transactions included in the mapper are marked as Exported and cannot be edited.

For example, you might download a flex mapper file for review and find incomplete transaction allocations. In this instance, you could mark the mapper as Unsuccessful, which unlocks transactions for editing. Once the transaction allocations are complete, you can run the mapper again, with the Mark Transactions as Exported check box selected. If you mark the mapper as Successful, the transactions included in the mapper file are locked and cannot be edited.

If you have scope of view over the entire organization, you can also change the status of a mapper created by another program administrator in your organization. For more information about shared mappers, see Sharing Mappers.

Note:Once you select and confirm the option to mark a mapper as Successful or Unsuccessful, you cannot change the mapper status. For example, if you mark a mapper as Unsuccessful and confirm this option, you will need to run the mapper again to mark it as Successful and export the related transactions. If you mistakenly change the status of a mapper, contact Client Application Support (CAS) to have the export reversed, if needed.

To change the status of a mapper:

  1. Select Reports > Download.

  2. To filter the Available Downloads list, select one of the following options:

    My Downloads Only

Select this option to display only your items, including your mapper files, that are available to update the status. By default, this option is selected.

    Mapper Only

Select this option to display all of the mappers that have been run within your organization. Unless you have the correct scope of view, you will only be able to mark as Successful or Unsuccessful those items you ran. However, you will be able to view the status of the mappers run by other program administrators.

  3. Find the mapper for which you want to change the status.

Note:When a mapper is configured to export transactions, the status of the mapper with be shown as Awaiting on the Available Downloads screen when the mapper completes and is available for download. Once you select an option in the Mark as Successful column, the mapper status will be updated to either Successful or Failed, depending on your selection.

  4. If you are satisfied with the mapper output, select the Yes option in the Mark as Successful column. When prompted, click OK to continue. The mapper status displays as Marking Successful while the request processes. Once the request is complete, the mapper status displays as Successful. Transactions included in the mapper are marked as Exported and cannot be edited.

If you are not satisfied with the mapper output, select the No option in the Mark as Successful column. When prompted, click OK to continue. The mapper status displays as Marking Failed while the request processes. Once the request is complete, the mapper status displays as Failed. Transactions included in the mapper are not exported and can be edited.
