Group the report data

Report types: Template-based reports only

Use the options on the Sort and Group tab to add groups to your report based on the value in a specified field. For example, if your report includes transaction data, you could define a group for the cardholder’s last name. In the report output, all the transactions with the same last name will be listed together in a group. Each time the field value changes, it creates a visual break in the report output to signify the start of a new group.

A field can be used in either a sort or a group but not both.

Relationship between groups and calculations

To add a group:

  1. On the Sort and Group tab, click Add Group.

  2. Select a field from the Available Fields list, and select Ascending or Descending order.
