You can view transaction authorizations and declines for an account in real time and efficiently troubleshoot any questions. For example, you might want to find out why a transaction was declined. If a transaction was declined due to an insufficient credit limit, you might want to access the cardholder’s account and increase the credit limit.
As a program administrator, you can view your individual authorizations and declines and also your cardholders’ authorizations and declines. In order to view cardholder authorizations and declines, cardholders must be assigned to your hierarchy and be within your scope of view.
The decline code definitions spreadsheet can help you determine the reason why a transaction was declined. This spreadsheet provides easy-to-understand explanations of why a transaction may have failed at the point of sale. A link to this spreadsheet is included on the Resources page in PaymentNet. To access the Resources page, click Help > Resources on the PaymentNet menu bar.
Note:The information presented in PaymentNet reflects authorizations and declines in real time for the previous 7 days (including today). If you need information about declines that occurred more than 7 days ago, you can run the Declines - MS Excel report and specify a date range up to 30 days prior to today. If the report date criteria includes the previous business day, only declines occurring up until 6:00 PM EST on that day will be included. Declines occurring after 6:00 PM EST will be available the second business day after the initial occurrence.
To view authorizations and declines for an account:
Select Transactions > Authorizations/Declines
Alternatively, cardholders can view authorizations and declines by clicking one of the View links in the Transaction Activity panel of the Cardholder Dashboard.
While viewing other information about an account, program administrators can select Take me to > Transaction List - Last 30 Days to see a list of recent transactions for the current account.
