Adding Temporary MCCGs to an Account

You can temporarily add an MCC Group with spending limits to an account or temporarily exclude an MCC Group from an account.

If your organization is set up to include certain MCCGs, cardholders can make purchases only from those MCC Groups. Temporarily adding one or more MCCGs allows cardholders to make purchases from additional MCCGs within the specified limits for a short time.

Note:Temporary limits are batch processed every 20 minutes.

To temporarily add an MCC Group to an account:

  1. Select Accounts > Manage and click the account you want to modify. Or, while viewing other information about an account, select Take me to > Account Detail.

  2. Click the Temporary Controls tab.

  3. Click Temporarily Add Another MCC Group to add a new set of temporary limit fields.

  4. From the Temporary MCC Group list, select an MCC Group and complete the fields that display. For a list of these fields, see Temporary MCC Group Limits Fields. For descriptions of the various types of limits, see Merchant Category Code Group Controls Fields. Repeat this step to add as many temporary MCCGs as needed.

Note:If a Merchant Category Code belongs to more than one MCC Group, the controls and limits for the first group in which the MCC appears will apply.

  5. Click Save.
