Changing an Employee User Access Role

You can change an employee’s user access role as necessary. For example, you might need to change an employee’s access role from Manager to Auditor. The access role defines a user’s scope of view, which determines the transactions they can view and manage. Changing a user access role in PaymentNet allows the employee to have immediate access to transactions within the role’s settings.

If the employee is a cardholder, changing the hierarchy ID for the user access role may render the cardholder unable to see their own account transactions. Make sure the role’s new hierarchy ID and scope provide visibility to the hierarchy ID for the user’s card account; if they do not, change the related account hierarchy ID for the account so that it does reside within the cardholder’s scope of view. For more information, see Changing a Card Hierarchy.

To change an employee user access role:

  1. Select Employees > Manage and click the employee whose information you want to view. Or, while viewing other information about an account, select Take me to > Employee Detail (this option is not available if the account is not associated with an employee).

  2. Click the User Access tab and complete the fields that display. For a list of these fields, see Role Fields and Scope Fields.

  3. Click Save.
